Big Gulp was a 32-oz. cups hit stores in 1976, allowing customers to quench their thirst with a giant serving of whatever soft drink they chose. The Big Gulp was such a hit that consumers asked for a container that would fit into their car's cup holders. It even spawned larger cups: the Super Big Gulp (44 oz.), the Double Gulp (64 oz.) the X-Treme Gulp (52 oz.) and the Team Gulp (128 oz. or 1 gallon).
7-Eleven dispenses over 38 million gallons of soda per year, making it an inevitable topic of discussion within the obesity debate in America.
Recently a member from REDITT under the name of u/TheInternetOfficer91 complained about Big Gulps price raise: "Big gulp and Gulp price raise. In my area, Big Gulps and Gulps are now $1.39 and $1.09 respectively. This lines up with the before gap of 60 cents between a Big Gulp and a Super Gulp but now I cant go to 7/11 for a great $1 drink and now have to have a dollar and 2 quaters"
Current Employee - Field Consultant says"Zero work life balance. Management is filled with yes man’s. If you have a life outside of work spouse, children etc you will definitely feel the pressure. You are on call 24!hours a day. You are actually earning less than minimum wage based upon the hours you actually work."

I find it unfair on how they look at other hard working employees."

Sales Associate (Former Employee) says"I was hired to be trained as assistant manager. After a couple of days they found out I could cook and threw me into a tiny kitchen cooking chicken all day. The other cook left do they left me there. I kept inquiring about my training. Senior female employees were nasty and backstabbing. They were filling in as assistant and didn’t want to lose their place so they kept me in the kitchen then night shift. Lots of theft from locals. After a year I left. Couldn’t take it anymore. Cashier (Current Employee) says"This is a very stressful job. Get cussed out and yelled at daily from customers. Poor management. I was promised a dollar an hour raise if I stayed after 2 weeks. Its been 2 months no raise. My manager consistently forgets to put my shift differential ($1/hour) in my paycheck and adds it as extra bonus to my next paycheck. Always short staffed. I was forced to wear a shirt that was 2 sizes to small for 2 months. I work night shift. Day shift doesn't do any cleaning. When I get there everything is a wreck, counters, floors, bathrooms, cooler hasn't been stocked all day and its really busy and I'm the only one there. The manager is there but doesn't make people do there job. Dayshift sits down on crates when not waiting on customers but nightshift gets yelled at if store isn't clean next morning. This particular 7 eleven is franchise and the owner employs his family and they don't do anything while the rest of us work like dogs for almost nothing.noneno breaks, must eat in between customers, low pay, no benefits"

Team Lead (Former Employee) says"Working for the corporate side of 7-11 is not recommended. My specific store manager was incompetent. Rarely showed up to work on time. Left employees working busy shifts by themselves. No breaks and no lunch even when working 8+ hrs a day. Corporate does nothing with employee complaints against management. Was asked to work off the clock. Was promoted 2x. My raises never showed up on my checks. Manager neglected to send in paperwork. Employees are treated terrible by area managers. Do not work for the corporate side of 7-11. You’d be better off finding a franchise owner that takes pride in their store. Beware of some of those too. They can be bad depending on the owners.NothingWill suck the life out of you"
